Inclusive Practice
Our outdoor social programs create a structured pathway from supported participation to leadership and independence — serving everyone from at-risk teenagers and care leavers to neurodivergent youth and adults recovering from isolation.
Intensive adventure-based support for teenagers referred by schools and mental health services. Structured mentoring in safe, natural settings builds confidence and emotional regulation.
Sensory-friendly, adaptive experiences for neurodivergent youth and people with disabilities. Clear routines, gentle pacing, and supported participation in calm outdoor environments.
Entry-level pathways for early school leavers and unemployed young adults combining guide training, safety awareness, teamwork, and leadership development.
Every program we run is designed with inclusion and facilitation at its core. Whether a participant joins for their first guided nature walk or completes full outdoor guide certification, they move through a continuum of supported outdoor experiences that build belonging, resilience, and real-world capability. Schools, youth workers, HSE teams, and families can refer directly.
Safe, Structured, Supervised
All programs are risk-assessed and facilitated by qualified outdoor professionals
For young people who need more than a classroom can offer, the mountains provide a uniquely powerful setting. Our wilderness therapy and adventure-based mentoring programs are specifically designed for teenagers referred by schools, youth mental health support groups, youth justice services, and for young people experiencing school refusal or emotional dysregulation.
Working in small, facilitated groups within the Connemara and Galway uplands, participants engage in restorative, experiential learning that builds confidence, social development skills, and emotional resilience — at a pace that respects where each individual is starting from.
The outdoors belongs to everyone. Our adaptive programs create low-pressure, sensory-aware group experiences that genuinely welcome neurodivergent youth, participants with disabilities, and community inclusion groups — building confidence and belonging one step at a time.
Every session follows a clear, consistent structure so participants know what to expect, reducing anxiety and making new experiences approachable.
Open hillside and coastal environments offer natural sensory regulation — wide open space, fresh air, and gentle ambient sound replace overwhelming indoor stimuli.
No activity is mandatory. Participants choose their level of involvement, and facilitators provide optional challenges rather than requirements — building genuine agency.
Social connection through shared outdoor experience — creating friendships, mutual trust, and a genuine sense of belonging within local community groups.
Special education teachers, disability service providers, community inclusion coordinators, and HSE-funded support programs are welcome to refer participants or arrange an initial consultation about suitability, access, and group composition.
For early school leavers, unemployed young adults, and anyone seeking a practical route into the outdoors sector, Éire Peak Programs offers structured vocational training that blends real-world skills with personal development. This isn't just a course — it's a genuine employment pathway.
Participants develop outdoor guide competencies, teamwork, risk awareness, route planning, and first aid basics alongside leadership and communication skills that transfer directly into the outdoor, community, and care sectors. Progression routes include assistant guiding roles, community programme support, and further certification.

Understanding the landscape you walk through deepens every other experience. Our conservation education and volunteer engagement projects connect students, homeschool groups, and environmental volunteers with the living ecology of Connaught's mountains and coastlines.
Practical conservation action — from bog restoration and native planting to upland trail maintenance — creating tangible impact while building environmental literacy.
Guided by experienced naturalists, groups learn species identification, ecosystem dynamics, and seasonal ecological change across Galway's varied habitats — ideal for school and homeschool curricula.
Participants don't just learn about sustainability — they practise it. Leave-no-trace principles, responsible land use, and low-impact outdoor skills are embedded throughout every session.
We collaborate with environmental charities, community development bodies, and local land managers. Schools, homeschool co-ops, and volunteer groups can join ongoing stewardship projects throughout the year.
Primary and secondary school groups, homeschool collectives, university environmental programs, community volunteering initiatives, and development education providers will find structured, curriculum-aligned content delivered in living landscapes. Contact us to discuss group size, scheduling, and accessibility needs.
You don't need experience, specialist gear, or high fitness to get out onto the hills with us. Our community mountain activities are designed to be genuinely low-barrier — welcoming older adults, families, faith groups, immigrant and refugee communities, and anyone who simply wants to move, breathe, and belong.
From gentle Sunday morning walks to half-day guided hikes with stunning views over Galway Bay, these social outings reduce isolation, build cross-community friendships, and replace screen time with shared experience that participants return to week after week.

"We referred three young people from our DEIS school who hadn't engaged with any structured program in over a year. Within six weeks of the wilderness mentoring program, all three were showing up consistently — the difference in their demeanour was remarkable."
Menasha Blankenberg
Guidance Counsellor, Galway secondary school
"My son has autism and severe anxiety around new social situations. The team went at his pace completely. By the third session he was laughing and pointing out plants he'd learned the names of. He asks when the next walk is every Sunday evening."
Maile Galluccio
Parent of a program participant, Galway city
"I came on the vocational training not expecting much honestly. I'd left school at 16 and felt like I had nothing to offer anyone. A year later I'm co-facilitating community walks and I've applied for an outdoor education QQI course. This program changed my direction."
Segen Burningham
Vocational training graduate, Galway
"As a family resource centre, we co-designed a mountain walk series with Éire Peak Programs for our family groups. The uptake was extraordinary — especially from new Irish families who'd never been on a hillside before. The belonging it created was immediate."
Sungula Hovda
Co-ordinator, Galway Family Resource Centre
"The conservation project gave our transition year group something genuinely meaningful to contribute to. They came back from their bog restoration day quieter and more thoughtful than I've seen them in any classroom. Several have continued volunteering independently."
Kurlan Alshohatee
Transition Year Coordinator, Co. Galway
"I came out of care at 18 with no idea what came next. The community walks were the first thing that made Galway feel like home to me. The staff treated me like an adult with potential, not a case file. I can't overstate how much that matters."
Renieyunet Shekin
Care leaver and program participant
Éire Peak Programs was established in Galway to address a simple but urgent need: too many young people, families, and community members are disconnected — from nature, from their communities, and from their own potential. We believe the mountains are one of the most powerful environments in which to address that disconnection.
Our facilitation team brings together qualified outdoor instructors, youth workers, social care professionals, and conservation educators. Every program we deliver is underpinned by safe practice standards, safeguarding policy, and a genuine commitment to person-centred outdoor learning. We work closely with referral agencies, schools, HSE services, and local community organisations to ensure that our programs meet real needs.
From our base at Upper Abbeygate Street in Galway city, we operate across Connaught's uplands, coastal paths, and green corridors — taking the wild and wonderful landscape of the west as our principal resource and our greatest classroom.
Whether you're a parent, school, youth service, charity, employer, or community group — we want to hear from you. We'll discuss group needs, program fit, accessibility requirements, and partnership opportunities at no obligation.
